Invitations:
Buy Detective invitations, print them on brown paper, search Google images to find detective clip art. On the front write "Confidential Case Details." Ask the kids to come dressed as a detective with hats, overcoats, and magnifying glass.
Cake:
Bake brownies and cut into small squares. Use frosting to write one letter in each piece to spell out the birthday message or your child's name.
Games:
- Make your own Detective Bear doll - order one of our party kits and dress it up at home.
- Scavenger Hunt - Have the kids follow clues to find evidence hidden around the house or yard. Evidence can be prizes or candy and if you really want to get creative they can be another set of clues that when put together will allow all the kids to figure out the master puzzle - can be the location of the cake or bag with prizes.
- Who am I? - Each kid gets a secret identity and splits up into teams. Each team takes turns guessing the identity of the other team members by asking a series of questions. The first team to guess all the identities on the opposing team wins.
- Crime Scene Evidence - Place about 15 household items into a bag and let each kid feel one item with eyes closed and try to identify it in under a minute.
- Find the Suspect - Played like Hide and Seek, one player is the Detective and has to find all the suspects to round them up for an investigation.
